The last time you went to your doctor, they likely ran labs or panels on your
Even if the labs came back “normal”, you may not feel like you’re normal. This is not your best life.
“Normal” health is not optimal health.
I constantly hear this story over and over and over again.
But that doesn’t have to be your story anymore. Today, I want to share with you something that may go against the grain for what you believe or understand to be true. It’s time to start living in optimal health, not just settling for “normal” health.
“Normal” Health Is Not Normal
What we call normal health may be common, but it is not normal.
It is not normal to drag yourself out of bed every morning and fuel yourself with three or four cups of coffee just to get going.
It is not normal that you are too tired to do anything else at the end of your work day because you’re completely exhausted.
And it’s not normal for you to continue to pack on body fat year after year no matter how hard you think you’re trying to get it off.
We’ve become accustomed to the word normal health, and we’ve associated it with the normal aging process.
But I’m here to tell you today that what is common is not always (and should not be classified as) normal.
You may be in the place I was for many years. Doctors told me all my lab tests were normal. I’d just had to live with my symptoms. My health was not optimal, and conventional medicine was not able to see that clearly.
Looking In The Wrong Places for Health Advice
After much frustration and exhaustion, I realized I was searching for health advice in the wrong places. Today, I see my old, tired, depleted self in so many others – searching for advice and relying on their doctors for the answer they simply cannot give.
People walk around every day with preventable diseases like high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and even cancer (which is becoming more and more common).
Instead of taking ownership over these diseases, we blame our diseases on our genetics or age and truly accept them as a part of those processes.
But there is a better way.
It’s not metformin, insulin shots, blood pressure medication, or chemotherapy.
While I’m not against pharmaceuticals (there’s a time and place, there is absolutely a better way to heal our bodies without these harmful medications.
You see, I spent much of my life falling into the same trap. Now that I’ve learned the truth about health and prevention, I’m on a mission to share that with as many people who will listen and coach those who are ready to truly live their best life. If that’s you, stay tuned for some great tips to start living in optimal health.

Choosing Optimal Health
Are you ready to start living in optimal health?
When it comes to choosing optimal health, you should…
… Wake up in the morning with plenty of energy to get out of bed easily.
… Still have that same great energy into the day and the evening.
… Be able to lay down at night when you get ready and go to sleep without the need for sleeping pills.
… Eat meals and feel satisfied without having cravings.
… Not be packing on the pounds when you feel like you’re working out and eating right.
The truth is, there is a better way of looking at health.
So what’s stopping you?
The Problem: Underlying Malfunction
The health problems you’re experiencing today, like fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, irritability, and indigestion, may not sound like life-threatening diseases. But they are a sign something more serious is to come.
And these problems don’t just happen by chance! They’re happening because there is an underlying malfunction going on in the body. Partner with someone like me to conduct and evaluate functional labs.
How to Live An Optimal Health
The beautiful thing is that your body knows exactly how to achieve this optimal health state if you give it what it needs. All you have to do is support it.
When you get the support right, you’ll wake up in the morning happy and full of energy, excited to start your day. You’ll have steady energy throughout the day without feeling sluggish. And you won’t need caffeine or sugar to keep you going. You’ll also have higher resistance when it comes to illness. And we could definitely all use a little bit of that right now.
Optimal health will allow you to think more clearly, remember more easily, and have a higher tolerance to stress.
Maybe you’ve met those easy going people that seem to just allow everything to roll off their back?
Those types of things come with optimal health.
When you have a healthy body, you have a healthy mind.
And you’ll also have an easier time maintaining a healthy body weight and moving freely without pain.
You’ll have better digestion and won’t have to worry about things like heartburn, gas, diarrhea, constipation. Food cravings will become a thing of the past.
Where are you in this list?
If you think it seems unrealistic that you could live the life I just described, then you’re doing it wrong. While that may sound harsh, you can live with every one of these health benefits. The only thing you have to do to make a change is make a commitment to do so and take action. Change doesn’t happen on its own.
7 Tips to Start Living in Optimal Health
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms or you feel you’re not living in optimal health, know that you can regain it. This simply means investing in yourself.
You are worth the investment.
So here are some things you can start doing today.
1. Improve Your Breathing
First and foremost, improve your breathing. The body requires a steady flow of oxygen to function properly. Beyond this, stress, poor posture, and poor diet interfere with our ability to breathe properly. That’s why you need to focus on deep belly breathing into your nose and out your mouth for a few minutes several times throughout the day to train your body to breathe properly so you can relax.
2. Drink Plenty of Clean Water
Then, drink plenty of clean water. Two-thirds of your body is water. The average person is drinking two to four 8 ounce glasses of water per day. This is astonishing! We are so dehydrated, yet we fill our bodies with food when we’re probably not even hungry. We may just be thirsty.
Water supports the brain, digestion, immune system, detoxification pathways, and our muscles and joints. So if you have issues in any of these areas, I encourage you to increase your water intake to 50% of your body weight in ounces.
3. Eat Whole Foods
Eat whole foods. We live on processed foods, sugar, toxins, additives, and flavorings. These encourage disease in our bodies. Our cells are a picture of what we eat, and they only thrive when we are feeding them fuel from natural whole foods (meat, fruit, and vegetables). Anything else may be a driver behind disease.
4. Think Positive Thoughts
Your daily actions are a clear picture of your thought life, so think positive thoughts.
Your thoughts drive your beliefs, which drive your actions. And your actions drive your results.
If you’re living a miserable thought life, you’re going to show up like that in your life. Your daily actions are a true reflection of what you’re thinking.
Make sure you think positive thoughts and take positive actions, since these will have positive results in your life.
5. Get Enough Sleep
Get enough sleep. We are living in a sleep-deprived nation. We wake up in the morning tired and fatigued, needing those 3 cups of coffee because we’re not spending enough time in the bed at night.
If you’re sleeping only 6 hours a night, you’re doing your body no favors. When I interview my clients, this is the average amount of sleep they get every night.
During sleep, our immune system is working for us, our physical breakdown and damage is repaired, and we process our thoughts and memories. Sleep helps us recover from our day and refreshes us for the next day.
6. Get Outside in Nature
If you’ve been here for any length of time, then you know I’m a nature girl. And you should be a nature person too! If you haven’t experienced the healing properties of nature, you are missing out. When you take a walk in the forest, you are boosting your own immune system.
Did you know nature has its own immune system? We spend so much time indoors in front of our computers, yet our healthier ancestors spent the majority of their days outside in the sun and in nature. So many people are going out of their way to avoid the sun, but it’s critical for our body’s immune system.
Get outside for at least 20 minutes per day – even if it’s for a short walk in your neighborhood.
7. Move Your Body
Finally, move your body every day! One of the biggest reasons I see for chronic pain and inflammation is due to lack of exercise and movement. We have to do this in order to improve circulation, immunity, mental clarity, and physical resilience. It helps us think. Exercise even improves our mental health.
